IABM and AIMS to deliver IP Interoperability Zone at IBC 2016
Friday, September 02, 2016
IABM has joined forces with AIMS to deliver a major new initiative at IBC – the IBC IP Interoperability Zone. Supported by the AES, AMWA, EBU, SMPTE and VSF, the IBC IP Interoperability Zone will feature real-world demonstrations of interoperation between a large number of different manufacturers’ IP system components, all based on the JT-NM interoperability roadmap which underpins AIMS and IABM’s collaborative approach.
Alongside the on-stand demos and presentations, Belgian broadcaster VRT will also be re-enacting its Sandbox LiveIP studio – exploring the viability of live IP production from camera to studio.
Visitors to the IP Interoperability Zone will be able to assess the readiness and interoperability of the technology for themselves – all under the AIMS roadmap which IABM has endorsed. The zone also provides space for visitors to discuss the challenges with a large number of diverse vendors, each aligning their efforts to achieve standardisation and seamless interworking.
